Running Accomplishments:

I just ran my first half marathon in March, 2009. My chip time was 1:56, which beat the goal of 2:00. I was pretty pleased with this, since my knee (later was told I had a torn meniscus) started bothering my by mile 8 and I limped the last 5. Also, I really only "trained" for about 2 and a half months, running 2 days a week (maybe 15 miles a week or so towards the end).

My next race is a half marathon on October 31st, then another 2 weeks later.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term goals are to get the half marathon time below 1:45 and continue to improve from there.

The next goal after that is my first marathon, probably around March, 2010. I would like a time between 3:30 and 3:45 for this.

Beyond that, I would like to improve to a Boston qualifying marathon time and a half marathon under 1:30.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I don't have many long term goals. I run for fun at this point and would just like to continue improving.

One long term goal that I do have is a Rim-Rim-Rim run at the Grand Canyon. It's about 44 miles from one side to the other and back, obviously with a lot of elevation change.

Didn't feel too great at the start, but ended up being a good run. Still warm and humid in the mornings. Looking forward to fall.

85 degrees, 50% humidity. Only about an 8 minute pace, but felt harder. Not as fast as I thought it would be. I'm hoping the heat was part of it.
